Here are some tips for a successful mini-session photo shoot!

  1. Arrive early so you don’t miss any of your session time, these sessions are usually quick and booked back to back!
  2. Make sure you don’t schedule near nap or meal time for little ones so they are at their best
  3. Coordinate outfits: Select outfits that complement each other without being overly matchy. Consider color palettes that work well together and avoid distracting patterns. Dress comfortably and in a way that reflects your family’s style.
  4. Prepare the kids: If you have young children, talk to them beforehand about the photo session, making it sound fun and exciting. Bring some snacks and toys to keep them engaged and happy during the shoot.
  5. Be yourselves: Encourage your family to be natural and relaxed during the session. The best photos often capture candid moments and genuine emotions.
  6. Include props and activities: Incorporate props or activities that represent your family’s interests and personalities. This can add a unique touch to the photos and make them more meaningful.
  7. Stay patient and flexible: Family photo sessions may not always go as planned, especially when working with children or pets. Stay patient and open to unexpected moments, as some of the best shots can arise from spontaneity.
  8. Capture different groupings: Take photos of the whole family together, as well as smaller groupings like parents with children, siblings together, and individual shots.
  9. Have fun: A photo session should be an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Take this opportunity to bond, laugh, and create lasting memories.
  10. Remember, a successful family photo session is not just about getting the perfect poses but also about capturing the love, connection, and joy within your family. By following these tips, you can create a collection of treasured images that you’ll cherish for years to come.

We can’t wait to see you this fall to capture your beautiful family! There is never a bad time for an updated family photo!
