Back in late September I got a visit from the oh so talented and very pregnant Scarlett. She brought along her adorable husband Ethan and we spent a couple of hours laughing, talking and getting some super cute maternity photos. 9 weeks later I got to meet the ridiculously cute Emry…don’t you just love that name! So cute and so unique – I love unique names for children. Maybe not as unique as “Apple” but a little out of the ordinary is fun. Here are some of my favorites from our Belly to Baby Series sessions!
I know I am missing a ton of portrait shoots in between these weddings and I promise to try to go back when I can!! I just wanted to share this super cute wedding story. Molly and Bobby worked in the same office in Downtown LA and fell head over heels for each other but couldn’t tell a soul! Office romances were frowned upon but this didn’t deter them. Their romance went on this way until the ring was on her finger! A secret office romance must have been so much fun and I’m so glad they broke the rules, they are such a super cute and sweet couple! Here are a few of my favorites from their day. I just couldn’t get enough of this deliciously precious flower girl and the flowers…wow! Enjoy the slideshow!
This day was beautiful in every way, thank you so much to the talented group of vendors I had the pleasure of working with!

This was my first wedding at the Temecula Creek Inn! Yay, I love new venues, it is so fun to explore and try out a new backdrop! Meredith and I took a few wrong turns on our golf cart on the way down to the site and didn’t think we were ever going to find civilization again…it was pretty fun! The venue was gorgeous, it had a fabulous rustic feeling that was given a modern spin with Carrie and Mike’s black and red color scheme! Carrie and Mike are super fun, funky and fabulous and made every moment of this day a blast! Enjoy!
I loved putting the bouquet down right in the brush to enhance the rustic environment!
I loved this stolen moment of the Flower Girl and the lighting in this room!
I love the canopy of trees above the ceremony…so romantic!
They did a choreographed first dance to Earth, Wind & Fire, it was so fun and so them!!
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made this day spectacular:
Round two with the Laziers! I had such a great time photographing this fabulous family in 2008 and they came back for more…yay!! It is always a challenge to coordinate getting a big family of active children together for family photos, so even though it was early in the season we took the opportunity to gather this great group in August for their holiday photo shoot. This time I went to them and we got these great photos outside their gorgeous home! Can’t wait till next year!
Santa Barbara weddings are always breathtaking and I love the chance to get out of town for a day or two and back up to my old stomping ground. This summer I had this opportunity a couple of times! Some of you may recognize this pretty lady as my right hand wedding gal! It was a nice change to have her in front of the camera on her special day! The ceremony was situated on a lookout at Santa Barbara City College and the reception followed at the University Club, both were fantastic! As you can see, the officiant, AKA – Andrew Caldwell a fellow photographer and friend from Brooks was hilarious and fantastic in his role! A few months later the wedding was followed by the exciting news that the couple are expecting a baby girl this April!
And of course props to all the people who made this beautiful day happen!!

Ok ok, I know! Resolution #1, get back on the blogging bandwagon! It is just so hard not to get lost in the September-December photo madness that ensues every year in my life! It is a vicious Bermuda Triangle I get sucked into and slowy emerge from about mid-January. I feel guilty spending a split second thinking about the blog rather than working on orders or spending rare precious moments with my husband and son. I promise I will go back and do a recap in the next week or so once I get back into the swing of things! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season!
Hi all, sorry yet again about the blog silence, things have been really busy this fall! I just got done photographing a preschool last week so as you can imagine my production load is very high! I still haven’t caught up from months ago but will do so very soon!
If you have been a blog reader of the past few years you will recognize this adorable face…it’s Casey! We did our annual photo session on her birthday last weekend and I got to hang out in the park with one of my favorite families for a few hours, it was fantastic! We spent some time reminiscing about the maternity and newborn sessions we did for Casey and how fast time has gone by. I think this is something that happens a lot in the fall, for some reason it is a nostalgic time for everyone. On that note I will leave you with these images of this wonderful girl enjoying watching the clouds, fall leaves, playing, dreaming, and just being young! Happy 5th birthday beautiful girl!
This was one of those weddings…one of those weddings where even a day later as I drove back to town from Santa Barbara I was still smiling. Even now a couple of months later as I look through images, I get all toasty inside!
Emily & Don put their heart and souls into this day, every detail and moment was thoughtful and loving. They are the kind of couple that are warm and giving and truly compliment each other. This unique event was merged with a fantastic event, the Santa Barbara Film Festival Fundraiser at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort. It was a magical moment in time that I will remember fondly for years! I love you both and wish you every happiness you deserve!
Thank you for your time and talent. You captured our day so beautifully and having you there enhanced the wedding in ways we can not express! We are so thankful for you!
La Canada Country Club hosted this fantastic day for Angela & Shawn, thier big day! The weather was gorgeous, they were so fun and happy and the day flowed so easily I couldn’t believe how quickly it went by. I look back on this image now and think about how clear and beautiful it was that evening as we looked up at the mountains. Only now, do I realize that the hills won’t look like this for years. Many people across the nation now recognize the name of this sleepy little town, La Canada, also know as the town at the bottom of the hill where the “Station Fire” still burns. It was a wonderful place for their wedding, thank you so much for having me and congrats you two!
Those of you who have been following the blog will recognize these three: Payton, Paige & RJ. I can’t believe it has been a year already since I first photographed these three little cuties! I spent an afternoon at the Peninsula Hotel with these special triplets and all of their doting family members from across the country to celebrate their first birthday. There were so many cute details and sweet moments, here is a fun little collage from the day.
