I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph little Aiden’s 3rd Birthday party at this fantastic indoor playground last weekend, ROMP. The set up was beautiful and bright and full of fun details, Mom, Jessica did a fantastic job! The best part of the day for me was the look on Aiden’s face when Buzz and Woody popped in to do some tricks and games for everyone, he was mesmerized…so cute!

I LOVE indoor play places, I am always on the hunt for new and exciting things to do with the little ones in my life.  ROMP LA was amazing, if I lived closer this would be a weekly stop for sure! The facility was huge, clean and had some really cool things I had never seen before like an indoor “beach” room.  Here is the info and here are few of my favorite shots from the afternoon:

I just had to post a quick photo of the boys. We had one of those moments last night where we really wanted to freeze them in time, these years pass by so fast! We are getting to the point with Jaxon where we really don’t want him to get bigger. The baby phase with him was a bit rough, but now things are getting really fun. I love this phase of exploring language and watching him work out how to get his body doing what he wants it to do.

I took the first photo of Jace back in 2008 at just about 18 months, in a hat my Mom made during the cold Montana winter months.  I had her make another one to photograph Jaxon in because the first image is a huge gallery wrap canvas in the house. I had planned to photograph Jaxon around 18 months as well, but he has such a huge head and is already so busy that I didn’t want to wait too much longer. I’m so glad I didn’t because it was tough to  get him to keep the hat on, and as all you parents know, it just gets harder once they realize they can yank if off themselves! I must have put the hat back on 20 times!

Katie and Scott got married last fall in what I’m sure was a fabulous southern-style Mississippi wedding. I was asked by my dear friend and client Julianne, to take some “day after” photos for her family. We had such a great time, and seriously, who wouldn’t with these two? I had photographed Scott before for publicity photos, he is an amazing writer, so it was fantastic to meet his new bride, who is just as sweet!

I just love being around people in love, congratulations you two, I can’t wait to see what the future brings for your new family!

The family filled me in on a tradition of theirs, Scott’s Mom passed down her wedding band to Katie so I just had to take a photo of the hands and rings…I love family wedding traditions!

This is so much fun! I got together late last year to photograph one of my favorite families, the Polahas, for little Jude’s big milestone…turning 1! Little did I know that the photos from this shoot would turn into the most amazing birthday invitation I have seen yet!

In fabulous Beatles style, the Polahas transformed the classic “Revolution” Beatles album cover into the invite for Jude’s birthday party. The invite was adorable, and even better was the CD enclosed with Dad, Kristoffer Polaha, doing a hilarious Beatles impression. Props for Kris, his British accent was fabulous! Check out the final product as well as a few of my favorite shots from the day with the whole gang!

I have been photographing these little characters now since the first, Liam, was still in Mama’s belly!  It has been the most incredible journey getting to know this family and being there for all of their photographic milestones.

Here are shots of all three kids now: Liam (almost 6), Finnley (almost 4), and Kieran 2. I am also posting a fun photographic flashback, by way of their birth announcements, it is so fun to see how much they have changed.

These images of the kids were taken after the holidays to be hung as large gallery-wrap canvas prints in their living room.  After some fun outfit and backdrop designing/planning, this is what we came up with.  Hopefully I can pop over there once the canvasses are printed and hung and take a quick shot because it is really fun to see the finished product displayed.

What a great way to start 2012, a new prop for me, a new baby boy for Emily & Zach, a fantastic session with wonderful new clients and one of my all-time favorite baby photos!

We got back from our usual jaunt down south to visit my wonderful in-laws…(yes that’s what I said, I am one of the lucky few who can actually say that and mean it, they are great) and I jumped right into three sessions. A “day-after” wedding session, a newborn, and a family – what a great weekend! Baby Henry was the first to try out a new distressed wire basket I purchased during our annual girls antiquing trip to Grapevine, Texas and I must say he was a fantastic model. It is going to be hard to top this seriously cute face and the positioning we got him into.

Thanks so much to my Hollywood power couple, both Assistant Directors, for taking time away from the set to bring in your gorgeous little man. Maybe one day soon we will see him on the silver screen!

Here are a few of my favorites from our afternoon and a bonus peek at some of the maternity shots Emily and I did as a surprise for Zach back in November! This super husband/dad was flying in weekly from work on the East Coast to see Emily and Henry through the pregnancy, soooo amazing!!!

A sigh of relief, some of the guilt of not posting anything for the last three months of the year is going away! I am officially done blogging for the day, I’m doing good though right?  I still have a long way to go but I’m getting there! A New Year’s resolution I am actually sticking with, yay…I wish my “good eating” resolution was coming along as well! Heehee!

I just wish I was one of those people who only put healthy things in their mouths but I just can’t resist all of the yummy things out there! Moderation is not my middle name, I am either eating the whole bag or not eating anything sweet for months! Oh yeah I forgot to mention, sweets are my vice, a serious addictive vice! Anyone have a cure for this, anyone a good teacher of moderation that has some advice? The good thing is I have been working out at least 5 days a week so all is good, it evens out right? An hour workout and three brownies seems like a great trade to me!

Wow, I can’t believe it has been a year since I was laying Declan into my newborn baskets at his first session! This was a great combo session, since he was born so late in the year we were able to get some great first year shots as well as take care of holiday images! He was so cute and fun and so attached to his Mommy & Daddy so we just kept them very near by, it was really sweet!

Wow, another September session…I was way more behind than I thought!  Here are some blog regulars and models from some of my favorite shoots of all time!  About every six months I get a visit from this beautiful family and this session was just as fun and fantastic as every other.  Actually Mom, Dad and the kids are expecting number 3 any minute, I can’t wait to find out what name they have picked for him…as you can see they love unique names just like me! I miss you guys and can’t wait to meet your newest member as soon as he makes his debut! Here are a few of big brother and sister!

Wow, I can’t believe I am still trying to catch up on blogging September sessions!  Here was a great and very memorable one because this little guy was just so sweet, mellow and a great model…just look at that perfect scale posture!

I tell my new parents to try and get into the studio before or around two weeks because newborns are typically still sleepy and very pliable at this stage and it makes for some super cute images.  After two to three weeks they start to become more aware of their bodies and what they do and do not like, positions, temperature, etc….little stinkers!
