A Royal Bash – { Hillcrest Country Club }

Once Upon A Time…Shia turned one, so Mommy and Daddy threw a Royal Birthday Bash and I was lucky enough to be there to capture the magical day. The beautiful setting was Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles and of course the details were insane because the party was designed by Cristina Prusz of le Partie sugar. This party was so unique with an artist doing custom profiles of each guest, musicians to entertain the little ones in their own little sitting area, a beautiful photo booth, etc, etc. There were so many decorations I wanted to take home with me, I have a thing for crowns! Happy Birthday little Shia, thanks for letting me come and share it with you!

I LOVE this chalk board in the welcome area and the bags with a custom crown for each little guest!

Gorgeous set-up for the lunch and each table had a high chair, such a cute touch! I LOVE the entry banner, super cool idea.

This was the table by the photo booth with props and a guest book.

Love the printables and the amazing cake and sweets!

This was such a cute area for the kids to play and enjoy the musicians when they arrived.

Tracy’s Shower – { The Pacific Asia Museum }

I had never been to the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena until this incredible shower. It was just one of the many beautiful buildings in Pasadena that I had driven by a million times before. I wasn’t really sure what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous venue, the incredible set-up for the shower and the warmth and love between Tracy and her family and friends. Some of my favorite highlights were the dragon performance, massage therapists, the musician, and of course the adorable “year of the dragon” theme. Here are just a few of my favorites from the day. Congratulations Tracy, your little one is sure to be gorgeous and is very lucky to call you her Mama!

Lauren + Will = Emily

I was lucky enough to spend a few hours this past Sunday with adorable little Emily and her amazing new parents. She was so alert and aware and so connected with her Mommy and Daddy, which was really fun to see but also made our sleepy baby shots a little more challenging. In the end, we won and got her to sleep long enough to get these fantastic shots of her sweet little face! Thanks so much for bringing her in and sharing her with me, it was such a treat!

Milena Turns 1!

I am getting a little bit better at this Facebook thing, last Friday I actually did a couple of “check-ins”, one in Carlsbad in the morning at La Costa resort for a commercial photo shoot and the other in Hidden Hills in the afternoon for a photo shoot with adorable Milena.

I was invited to photograph the Kirchner family before the holidays for their Christmas card and was lucky enough to return to document Milena’s big milestone, turning 1! We had a great time dressing her up and exploring the house and yard for fun “sets” to go with her dresses. I have been craving having a little girl lately and sessions like these amplify this obviously, girls and their clothes are so fun and cute! I can hardly wait until the next time I see Milena, I’m sure she will be toddling all around the house! Happy Birthday Milena!

I loved the scale of Milena in this window, she is just so tiny, and I thought the wallpaper was really fun!

It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time!

It’s about that time…Girl Scout Cookie Time…have you gotten your Thin Mints yet? Tag-a-longs? I was lucky enough to be invited to do a photo shoot for a local Girl Scout Troop for a garden tea party they were throwing. It brought back amazing memories for me of being a Brownie when I was a little girl. Getting patches, selling cookies, and doing the Girl Scout Pledge were such a great part of being a little girl. I can hardly wait to put that little blue Cub Scout uniform on my boys in a few years.

For this occasion, I put up various backdrops to coordinate with the little tea party outfits they were wearing and took some shots with each girl and her parents, it was a lot of fun! Check out the sweetness and don’t forget to support your local troop, look out for them posted around your town and pick up cookies before they are gone!

The Details: how cute is this? My Girl Scout meetings definitely weren’t this fancy, how cute are these Moms?

The Tea: this was so adorable, these little tiny girls sipping their tea! Super cute!

The Pledge and the Patch: definitely two of my favorite parts of the day!

Kent + Robyn = Lily {a newborn session}

I LOVE referrals, especially from clients, it is such a wonderful feeling and compliment. Thank you Emily and Zach for sending Robyn, Kent and Lily my way, they were amazing and we had the best time photographing the whole family.

I thought it was so cute when halfway through the session Kent says to me, “When we got Emily and Zach’s announcement for their son, it was amazing and I thought to myself there is no way our baby is going to do those poses. But she is doing them, I am shocked!” Not only did Lily do a couple of them, she did MANY great poses, it was really hard to edit them down for this post! Great work Lily, you made Mommy and Daddy very proud on your first modeling gig!

Thank you so much for sharing your new little one with me, I hope you are enjoying her before she gets up and starts running…or you blink and she is headed to college!

Laura + Hector = Delia {a maternity session}

It has been a few busy weeks since I last checked in and I’m so excited to share some fantastic sessions! Laura and Hector brought the whole family in for Laura’s maternity session and I loved getting to meet everyone! We had a great time and got some gorgeous photos of the whole gang. I am always so flattered when my clients come and see me period, but extra flattered when they come from a distance, thank you all for making the trip up my way! I can’t wait to meet baby Delia when she makes her arrival. Here are a few of my favorites!

ROMP LA – Aiden’s 3rd Birthday!

I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph little Aiden’s 3rd Birthday party at this fantastic indoor playground last weekend, ROMP. The set up was beautiful and bright and full of fun details, Mom, Jessica did a fantastic job! The best part of the day for me was the look on Aiden’s face when Buzz and Woody popped in to do some tricks and games for everyone, he was mesmerized…so cute!

I LOVE indoor play places, I am always on the hunt for new and exciting things to do with the little ones in my life. ROMP LA was amazing, if I lived closer this would be a weekly stop for sure! The facility was huge, clean and had some really cool things I had never seen before like an indoor “beach” room. Here is the info and here are few of my favorite shots from the afternoon:

The Boys!

I just had to post a quick photo of the boys. We had one of those moments last night where we really wanted to freeze them in time, these years pass by so fast! We are getting to the point with Jaxon where we really don’t want him to get bigger. The baby phase with him was a bit rough, but now things are getting really fun. I love this phase of exploring language and watching him work out how to get his body doing what he wants it to do.

I took the first photo of Jace back in 2008 at just about 18 months, in a hat my Mom made during the cold Montana winter months. I had her make another one to photograph Jaxon in because the first image is a huge gallery wrap canvas in the house. I had planned to photograph Jaxon around 18 months as well, but he has such a huge head and is already so busy that I didn’t want to wait too much longer. I’m so glad I didn’t because it was tough to get him to keep the hat on, and as all you parents know, it just gets harder once they realize they can yank if off themselves! I must have put the hat back on 20 times!

Katie + Scott

Katie and Scott got married last fall in what I’m sure was a fabulous southern-style Mississippi wedding. I was asked by my dear friend and client Julianne, to take some “day after” photos for her family. We had such a great time, and seriously, who wouldn’t with these two? I had photographed Scott before for publicity photos, he is an amazing writer, so it was fantastic to meet his new bride, who is just as sweet!

I just love being around people in love, congratulations you two, I can’t wait to see what the future brings for your new family!

Scott and his parents, sooo sweet! I have two boys, so I have a very soft spot for photos of Mamas and their boys!

Don’t you just love stolen moments, especially when they are clearly filled with love and happiness!!!

The family filled me in on a tradition of theirs, Scott’s Mom passed down her wedding band to Katie so I just had to take a photo of the hands and rings…I love family wedding traditions!
