Ahhhhhh!!

January 27th, 2010 by Diana

A sigh of relief, some of the guilt of not posting anything for the last three months of the year is going away! I am officially done blogging for the day, I’m doing good though right?  I still have a long way to go but I’m getting there! A New Year’s resolution I am actually sticking with, yay…I wish my “good eating” resolution was coming along as well! Heehee!

I just wish I was one of those people who only put healthy things in their mouths but I just can’t resist all of the yummy things out there! Moderation is not my middle name, I am either eating the whole bag or not eating anything sweet for months! Oh yeah I forgot to mention, sweets are my vice, a serious addictive vice! Anyone have a cure for this, anyone a good teacher of moderation that has some advice? The good thing is I have been working out at least 5 days a week so all is good, it evens out right? An hour workout and three brownies seems like a great trade to me!

Declan - 1 year!

January 27th, 2010 by Diana

Wow, I can’t believe it has been a year since I was laying Declan into my newborn baskets at his first session! This was a great combo session, since he was born so late in the year we were able to get some great first year shots as well as take care of holiday images! He was so cute and fun and so attached to his Mommy & Daddy so we just kept them very near by, it was really sweet!

Channing & Hudson

January 27th, 2010 by Diana

Wow, another September session…I was way more behind than I thought!  Here are some blog regulars and models from some of my favorite shoots of all time!  About every six months I get a visit from this beautiful family and this session was just as fun and fantastic as every other.  Actually Mom, Dad and the kids are expecting number 3 any minute, I can’t wait to find out what name they have picked for him…as you can see they love unique names just like me! I miss you guys and can’t wait to meet your newest member as soon as he makes his debut! Here are a few of big brother and sister!

Tami + Jeffrey = Connor

January 27th, 2010 by Diana

Wow, I can’t believe I am still trying to catch up on blogging September sessions!  Here was a great and very memorable one because this little guy was just so sweet, mellow and a great model…just look at that perfect scale posture!

I tell my new parents to try and get into the studio before or around two weeks because newborns are typically still sleepy and very pliable at this stage and it makes for some super cute images.  After two to three weeks they start to become more aware of their bodies and what they do and do not like, positions, temperature, etc….little stinkers!

We got so many fun shots of this little man, thanks so much for sharing him with me Tami & Jeffrey!  I hope the holidays with your new little guy were fantastic!

Scarlett + Ethan = Emry

January 25th, 2010 by Diana

Back in late September I got a visit from the oh so talented and very pregnant Scarlett.  She brought along her adorable husband Ethan and we spent a couple of hours laughing, talking and getting some super cute maternity photos.  9 weeks later I got to meet the ridiculously cute Emry…don’t you just love that name!  So cute and so unique - I love unique names for children. Maybe not as unique as “Apple” but a little out of the ordinary is fun. Here are some of my favorites from our Belly to Baby Series sessions!

Molly + Bobby = A Pasadena Wedding

January 23rd, 2010 by Diana

I know I am missing  a ton of portrait shoots in between these weddings and I promise to try to go back when I can!! I just wanted to share this super cute wedding story. Molly and Bobby worked in the same office in Downtown LA and fell head over heels for each other but couldn’t tell a soul! Office romances were frowned upon but this didn’t deter them.  Their romance went on this way until the ring was on her finger!  A secret office romance must have been so much fun and I’m so glad they broke the rules, they are such a super cute and sweet couple! :)  Here are a few of my favorites from their day.  I just couldn’t get enough of this deliciously precious flower girl and the flowers…wow! Enjoy the slideshow!

This day was beautiful in every way, thank you so much to the talented group of vendors I had the pleasure of working with!

Carrie & Mike = A Temecula Wedding!

January 21st, 2010 by Diana

This was my first wedding at the Temecula Creek Inn! Yay, I love new venues, it is so fun to explore and try out a new backdrop!  Meredith and I took a few wrong turns on our golf cart on the way down to the site and didn’t think we were ever going to find civilization again…it was pretty fun!  The venue was gorgeous, it had a fabulous rustic feeling that was given a modern spin with Carrie and Mike’s black and red color scheme!  Carrie and Mike are super fun, funky and fabulous and made every moment of this day a blast! Enjoy!

I loved putting the bouquet down right in the brush to enhance the rustic environment!

I loved this stolen moment of the Flower Girl and the lighting in this room!

I love the canopy of trees above the ceremony…so romantic!

They did a choreographed first dance to Earth, Wind & Fire, it was so fun and so them!!

Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made this day spectacular:

DJ: Harry Cometa

Florist: Roubina from La Boquet

Laziers 2009!

January 19th, 2010 by Diana

Round two with the Laziers! I had such a great time photographing this fabulous family in 2008 and they came back for more…yay!!  It is always a challenge to coordinate getting a big family of active children together for family photos, so even though it was early in the season we took the opportunity to gather this great group in August for their holiday photo shoot.  This time I went to them and we got these great photos outside their gorgeous home!  Can’t wait till next year!

Meredith + Hamed = A Santa Barbara Wedding!

January 19th, 2010 by Diana

Santa Barbara weddings are always breathtaking and I love the chance to get out of town for a day or two and back up to my old stomping ground. This summer I had this opportunity a couple of times!  Some of you may recognize this pretty lady as my right hand wedding gal! It was a nice change to have her in front of the camera on her special day! The ceremony was situated on a lookout at Santa Barbara City College and the reception followed at the University Club, both were fantastic! As you can see, the officiant, AKA - Andrew Caldwell a fellow photographer and friend from Brooks was hilarious and fantastic in his role! A few months later the wedding was followed by the exciting news that the couple are expecting a baby girl this April!

And of course props to all the people who made this beautiful day happen!!

Ceremony Site: Winslow Overlook, Santa Barbara City College

Reception Site: University Club Santa Barbara

Resolutions

January 10th, 2010 by Diana

Ok ok, I know!  Resolution #1, get back on the blogging bandwagon! It is just so hard not to get lost in the September-December photo madness that ensues every year in my life!  It is a vicious Bermuda Triangle I get sucked into and slowy emerge from about mid-January.  I feel guilty spending a split second thinking about the blog rather than working on orders or spending rare precious moments with my husband and son.  I promise I will go back and do a recap in the next week or so once I get back into the swing of things!  I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season!
